Painting on a Sunday Afternoon

After finishing the painting, but the colours have not been set yet!

I am working on a small project.  It is going to be a button up lace cowl – the Cleo Cowl or Collar.  It won’t take too much yardage and could be knit and then painted or just knit with a fabulous DK yarn.

I am working on the painted version first.  The yarn I am working with is Himalayan Silk from “One of a Kind” yarns from Infiknit.  I love the natural colours and hues of the silk in its undyed state.  This is a very “rustic” yarn, thicker and thinner in spots, sometimes very thin, but being silk – still is very strong.  It started out a little stiff, but once knit, softened up amazingly.

Before starting – look at all the hues of the natural silk.

It was a joy to paint – it is steaming right now.  I can hardly wait to see how the silk took the colours!

Happy Knitting
