Down at the bottom of Bay Street, right across from Departure Bay Beach, lies a wide field that is a designated dog walk and off leash park. This afternoon we decided to go for a quick walk in between the rain showers and just headed down the hill to the off-leash park.
We headed up the path to the park and emerged from between the blackberries. What a surprise! Crocus, Snowdrops and Bight yellow Aconite are blooming profusely through the grasses and underneath the trees!
I was in heaven. The camera and I headed under trees and bushes trying to get pictures of everything. There huge clusters of snowdrops and sprinklings of white, white and purple, and purple crocuses through the grass. The snowdrops spread out under the trees and were joined by sunshine yellow aconite! It was magical.
The sun was shining brightly as we arrived and a storm was blowing in as we left – the light shifted through the walk but was always bright and clear. The wind was blowing hard and the rain just started to fall as we ran for the car.
A very quick and colourful walk!
Happy Walking
