I have Spring Fever. A full-blown case of Startitus and it could mean more starts are in the near future.
Remember Crystalline – it is almost done – but it is languishing – waiting for this case of startitus to run its course.
Patina is in the same state.
First up – A new Silk Garden Sock colour had just arrived - it was stunning – not my usual colours – but gloves; No; a pair of gauntlet gloves – would be perfect! Let’s try out a new cast-on – something ethnic – with texture -LOOPS!!
Let’s go all out – two-colour loops! Followed by a shaped Entrelac gauntlet – long – and then a tweed hand. Perfection – except that the purple tweed that I wanted just wouldn’t work! I have to rip the hand back and replace with black tweed. They are now languishing.

Pooling requires a hand-dyed or variegated yarn that will stack on itself to form stripes in the fabric when knit with a certain amount of stitches. Pooling before the yarn is wound and then during the knit.
Second up – I was “helping” Fiona admire a lovely hank of Handmaiden Lino at the store. The colourway is a Fleece Artist colourway called Snow Crocus and I had admired it several times myself recently. This time the admiration spilled over into “must have”. It was perfect for “pooling“! Why had I never noticed this before!
The Snow Crocus Lino came home that evening and was wound in no time. The cast-on and stitch auditions took a few hours longer, but it is perfection now!
What’s next? Well; this new yarn just arrived yesterday…….
Happy Knitting
Lynette
