Amazing Spider's Web

Amazing Spider’s Web

A new Pi Shawl.

A new Pi Shawl.

A spider’s web is an amazing thing. Beautifully structured and constructed, circular, unique.

I have been contemplating on this.  I want to try to design a new shawl using this structure.  I haven’t constructed a circular shawl in a long time. I knit the Beaded Pi over five years ago.  I think that it is time for a new Pi shawl.  I can mimic the look of a spider’s web within the basic structure of the classic Pi.

Last night I pulled some Einband from my stash.  I have been wanting to try this yarn out and it has the body and bounce that I want for my shawl.

Einband is an Icelandic wool with a hand and feel of Lopi until it is washed and blocked.  It is a real woolly wool.  My Einband is undyed.  I think that am going to paint this shawl as well.

I wonder if I can keep finding patterns with a six stitch repeat and single stitch spines – to keep the spokes going – we will see.

Happy Knitting
