There is something special about rainy days – the mood is quieter and the light is softer. Colours are more subdued and then more vibrant as the light changes and the rain is heavier or lighter.
Sometimes the sun breaks through and then everything glistens as the sunlight reflects off of the rain falling and the water on all of the surfaces reflect and refract light.
Distances are different as well. The water in the air curves light and some views come closer and others move far away. There is magic in water and light.
This last weekend we walked the Nanaimo River Regional Park and the Yew Loop at Morrell Sanctuary. The Yew Loop is home to many Gnomes – magic walks here.
Both walks were wet, but drier under the trees and they both were glowing green! I hope that you enjoy your walks.
The River Walk was a little tamer. The trees framed views on both sides of us and the flowers really popped against the greens that surrounded them!
