The Bang: I was so excited. I had treated myself to a hank of Artyarns Cashmere Glitter in a gorgeous blue. I was – I am going to knit my Cleo Collar with the Cashmere – it will be gorgeous. There is enough yardage to make the Collar one repeat larger and I was ready to knit.
The Crash: I apparently have forgotten how to read charts! The knitting was going along great. The cashmere is a dream to work with and the pattern was looking fabulous. I was bombing through the rows and thinking about how fast it was knitting up and at about that time I actually looked at the chart. I had completely missed the plain rows between the pattern rows. Those weren’t my return rows on the chart – they were my next right side rows!! One night of knitting and I am back to the beginning – again.
On the up side Roses, Roses is finished. I have decided, reluctantly the Rose needed no more gilding – I have a tendency to go a little over the top – and will forgo the dimensional beaded Roses that I was thinking of adding to the scarf. It would really make it too heavy!
This weekend, sunday most likely, will see the release of the final portion of the pattern. It will remain up for a week and then come down to go through the final finishing – pictures etc, before being released for sale.
At the retreat I had been given some lovely little cloisonné socks, a souvenir of the Sock Summit, a friend brought them back for me.
I had played around with a few ideas of how best to showcase them. On a necklace, as part of a shawl pin, each idea a little more fanciful than the last. I finally decided to go with the KISS principle. They are now the cutest little earings. I will wear more often and enjoy them more as earings than any of my other options. Many thanks to the friend who gifted them to me!
